Spun Sugar Slouchy Bag

spun sugar slouchy bag

I am beyond excited because…. this is my very first self-written pattern outside of work. It’s been a long time coming and I’m so very happy to finally have this pattern ready for you! The written instructions are below, I plan to have downloadable pdf’s available once I have more patterns available. But for now, I hope you enjoy!

So I have been on a bobble kick lately and just HAD to create a project that’s just COVERED in them of course. If bobbles aren’t your jam, stay tuned because much more is to come! If you love them as much as I do, I hope you truly love this pattern. The Spun Sugar Slouchy Bag is an oversized tote that’s super sturdy and versatile. Use it as a market bag, beach tote, or even to carry around your current w.i.p’s!

I work for the company Premier Yarns as a Design Coordinator and often get dibs on donation yarn, meaning yarns that didn’t go forward in development, or that we have a surplus of and no longer need. Unfortunately the color I used for this project is a color that never went forward (at least not for now) but I just loved the cotton candy blues and pinks that I had to have some. Don’t fret however, it’s still a yarn that is AMAZING and available in so many colors that would be absolutely beautiful used in this pattern. I’ll include the link below. It’s Everyday Soft Worsted from Premier Yarns. It’s by far one of my favorite worsted weights, so easy to work with and that anti-pill technology makes it last forevaaaaa

Now to the actual pattern, I hope you love it as much as I do! xoxo Kimberlyn- the drummer’s daughter

  • Bobble Stitch:
    • Bobble Stitch: *Yo, insert hook, yo and pull through 2 loops on your hook*, rep from * until there are 6 loops on your hook, pull through all six.

PATTERN NOTES:

  • SOMETHING TO NOTE: After the base of the tote bag, this pattern is worked in a spiral, to avoid that not-so-attractive seam. You WILL NOT join at the end of each round, but instead use the removable stitch marker to mark the first stitch of the round and move the marker up as you complete each round.
